Our antique 1905 Edwardian ring features a bright round blue glass stone surrounded by a halo of paste glass stones. The ring is fully hallmarked dating back to Chester in 1905.
This piece is set in 9ct gold, it has a slight pink hue, typical of Victorian / Edwardian gold at this time. The colour is in between modern yellow and rose gold. The glass stones are manufactured with lead oxide and referred to as 'Flint Glass'. The glass is cut and faceted to increase the reflections and fire. Paste was considered a popular material in costume and fine jewellery from the 1750s-1930s.
